 How Often Should Carpet Be Cleaned?

There is no short answer to this question.  It will depend on many factors such as traffic level, how much dirt is being tracked in, the type of surfaces outside the building (for instance, asphalt parking lots) and current custodial practices.  Each facility will be different, but efforts should be made to clean carpet often.  Areas of each building will also differ.  For example, entry areas and main hallways will probably need cleaning more often than secondary hallways, office spaces and upper-floor offices. The general rule is that if your carpet looks dirty, you've waited too long.
